Miller Canfield is seeking an associate attorney to join its Trust and Estates team in our Troy, Michigan office.
 
Our tight-knit team helps generations of family members with estate planning and probate and trust administration matters. We also work extensively with banks and trust companies. Our clients include entrepreneurs and executives of Fortune 100 companies.
 
Qualified candidates will have up to 5 years’ experience in estate planning, document drafting and estate administration, including related estate and gift tax experience. Candidates with a strong desire to work in estate planning, tax planning, and probate and trust administration matters without commensurate experience are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will have a strong academic record with excellent writing, analytical, organizational and communication skills. Must be licensed and in good standing in Michigan, or eligible for admission by examination or waiver.

Corporate Tax Attorney

Miller Canfield seeks an associate to join its Tax Group in our Chicago office or any of our Michigan offices.
 
As part of our Chambers-ranked Corporate Group, Miller Canfield tax lawyers provide solutions for numerous domestic and international corporations, closely held businesses, partnerships and high net worth individuals. Our attorneys formulate advantageous tax strategies for creating and buying business entities, and selling, restructuring and liquidating operations of all types and sizes. The Tax Group advises on a wide array of situations.
 
Qualified candidates will have at least 8 years of experience advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, tax credit transactions, pass through enterprises, international tax and cross-border transactions. Experience in estate tax and tax-exempt entities a plus. An LLM in Taxation is preferred, although not required. Successful candidates will have a strong academic record, excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to take ownership of projects, anticipate clients’ needs and independently develop solutions that add real value to their transactions. Must be licensed and in good standing in Michigan or Illinois, or eligible for admission by examination or waiver.
